The Stanley & Its Spirits

Many have heard that The Shining got its start from a night Stephen King spent in a haunted hotel.

Many have learned that the hotel was not, in fact, called The Overlook, but actually The Stanley, located in Estes Park, Colorado. That hotel operates to this day.

What doesn’t seem to be as well known is that the hotel actually had paranormal investigators on staff for several years. Additionally, they documented their work in a web series called “Spirits of the Stanley Hotel”

Say what you will about a lot of modern ghost hunting techniques and the overabundance of gear some people have, but this team’s development of The Estes Method has been copied on countless ghost shows. Many of those shows I’ll side eye. This one, I don’t.
