PUPs Swap

Not like…. a dog. Pickups-PUPs. A Seymour Duncan Jazz in the neck and a DiMarzio Fortitude in the bridge. For me, and for the EVH I put them in, they work well together. Granted, part of the tonal change is also I removed the tone control completely from the circuit. The two OEM knobs on the EVH have been replaced with Mojotone CTS push/pull pots wired for coil splitting.

One piece that I didn’t stick with the current convention on is I didn’t wire in a treble bleed. I may go back and do it later, but for now, I want that high end roll-off. This lets me pull back the volume just a bit, get a bit of highs cut, and clean up the signal at the same time. Not everybody’s cup of tea, but it works for me.

@tommyspooky @Seymour Duncan in the front and DiMarzio in the back 🤘 (Also for the non-nerds: pups = pickups = the black boxes under the strings that actually pick up sound) Also its a Duncan Jazz in the neck and DiMarzio #fortitude in the bridge. Also with @Mojotone Musical Supply CTS push pull pots fkr coil taps #guitar #music #pickup ♬ original sound - Spooky Tommy
