Track Breakdown: Calm Before the Storm
This simple, ambient piece is exactly that - three layered tracks and nothing else, with Waves IM Pusher on each track helping them gel together
It’s designed to set up a calm interlude before the rage and anger of the title track, which follows it.
Track 1
The Kemper track. Honestly, I can’t remember (and didn’t make note of) which profile I used, but this track is drowning in a reverb from the Kemper and a delay from the Boss DD-200. On its own, while the amp tone is very crystalline, it gets lots in the reverb and delay.
Track 2
The “raw” / direct signal. On top of it is Two Notes Audio’s Genome package, using the “LA 80s” sound which has been further tweaked slightly. The preset enhances the stereo image with its delay and flanger in one speaker, and the reverb and chorus out the other.

Track 3
This one is the output of a Boss Sy-200 synth pedal, set to pad synth. On top of that, Nembrini Audio’s brilliant software copy of the venerable ADA MP1 help breathe life into the track. Unfortunately it’s past its introductory pricing, but still worth checking out.
